More artisans get business opportunity at Dilli Haat

The Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) has invited bids from artisans who have not participated during the last six months from the slot for allotment of stalls at the plaza. They should be registered with the Marketing and Service Extension Centres or other field units of the office of the Development Commissioner, said a notification.
Dilli Haat which is located in one of the most important commercial centres of South Delhi has been visualised as a showpiece of traditional Indian culture - a forum where rural life and folk art are brought closer to an urban clientele.
The crafts persons find an opportunity to demonstrate their artistic skills to thousands of visitors there every day.
It is a project set up by the government which aims to provide encouragement to the needy artists from all over the country in order to sustain and preserve the rich heritage of the country. (KNN/ST)
