MoS MSME writes to Niti Ayog to consider demands of Satyagraha for Sacred Economy

New Delhi, Dec 30 (KNN) Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoS MSME), Pratap Chandra Sarangi has written to the NITI Aayog to look into the demands of the Satyagraha for Sacred Economy spearheaded by Gram Seva Sangh, the sangh said in a press release.

In a letter to NITI Aayog’s Vice Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar on December 21, 2019, the Minister acknowledged that the Gram Seva Sangh have flagged off certain fundamental issues of the economic policies involving multiple sectors.

Earlier this month, a delegation from the Gram Seva Sangh visited the city to meet Sarangi and discuss the Satyagraha’s demands. The delegation informed the minister that since the Sacred Economic sectors comprise 90 to 93% of India’s population (Hand-making plus small scale sectors with less than forty percent of automation), the budget allocations to these sectors must be made in proportion to the people employed by them in order to effectively address the current economic crisis.

The delegation also placed a demand for speedy action on the matter within a month, failing which the Satyagraha will be intensified.

Gram Seva Sangh activist Prasanna along with other well know activists like Medha Patkar, Sunil Sahasrabudhey, Prasanna, Chitraji, K V Biju, Manjari Nirula from across India were the part of the delegation.

Gram Seva Sangh is currently expanding the Satyagraha for sacred economy into various districts in Karnataka.

On Jan 3, 2020, they have organized a convention on Sacred Economy at Raichur, to be followed by several other district conventions.
