MSME-DI – FOSMI organizing State Level Vendor Development Program on Sept 15 in Kolkata

Kolkata, Sept 12 (KNN) In order to boost procurement from MSMEs by the CPSUs, MSME-Development Institute, Ministry of MSME, Government of India in association with industry body FOSMI is organising a State Level Vendor Development Program on September 15, 2017.

It is expected that Buyers from Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd., Metro Railway and Gun & Shell Factory will participate and explain their purchase policy and Vendor Registration System.

FOSMI said an interactive session will be held with the small scale units after the presentation by the large scale units / buyers.

The Public Procurement Policy for Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) mandates 20% of procurement of annual requirement of goods and services by all Central Ministries/ Public Sector Undertakings will be from the micro and small enterprises.

“The policy is in force w.e.f. 1 April 2015 and is mandatory. We are sure that the policy will help to promote MSEs by improving their market access and competitiveness through increased participation by MSEs in Government purchases and encouraging linkages between MSEs and large enterprises,” said FOSMI.

FOSMI and MSME Ministry has asked the MSMEs to participate in this Vendor Development Programme in order to reap the benefit of the Programme. (KNN Bureau)
