The motivational camp will be held on September-9 for individuals between the age group 18-45 who have passed standard 8 and above.
“We concentrate on candidates from both rural and urban areas as well as tribal regions and those who belong to the SC/ST category. Once we find the potential in them, we educate and train them to become entrepreneurs,” Assistant Director (Mechanical), Branch MSME-DI, Coimbatore, A Shivakumar told KNN.
The course would cover how to select a project, basic requirements needed, market information, current trends, machinery, financial and costing aspects, etc. Participants would also learn how to start and run a project and how to approach banks for finance.
Significantly, each of the districts have unique business potential, specific to that area. For example, in the tribal areas entrepreneurs can be involved in bee keeping, bamboo products, tailoring, coir, etc, Shivakumar said.
The branch institute here covers seven district of Tamil Nadu to include Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Karur, Nilgiris and Coimbatore.
