MSME Min launches Khadi T-Shirts at J&K Exhibition

New Delhi, July 24 (KNN) As a part of marketing interventions, an exclusive exhibition cum sale of products from Jammu & Kashmir and Khadi T Shirts were launched by Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for MSME here on Thursday. 

Giriraj Singh, Minister of State for MSME and Anup Pujari, Secretary, Ministry of MSME were also present on the occasion. 

Launching the T-Shirts Mishra said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a clarion call to the countrymen to use Khadi through “Mann Ki Baat”.
 
Accordingly a number of marketing interventions have been initiated by KVIC. This includes Khadi Utsav in colleges and university campus, launching of Khadi Denim, Summer Designer collection, exhibition of North East PMEGP entrepreneurs etc. An exclusive PMEGP exposition has already been started from June 16, 2015. 

The Minister further added that the Unique USP of T Shirts launched today is its skin friendliness and cooling nature. 

Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan, Regal Building is the flagship showroom of KVIC and is carrying out sales operation since 1955. It is providing marketing support to over 300 institutions and micro enterprises during 2014-15, Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan achieved a retail sale of Rs. 570.85 lakh during the first quarter i.e. April, May & June the Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan recorded a retail sale of Rs 699.36 lakh which is 23 per cent of increase for the same period during the previous year. The readymade retail sale during the first quarter was Rs.296.90 lakh and 30 per cent of increase for the same period during the previous year. 
 
Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan is proposing to have regular Exhibition Cum Sale involving entrepreneurs and institutions from different states on rotation basis and also bringing in designer garments and products suiting customer taste and preferences especially focusing on the youth segments. This will bring in most sustainability and viability to the khadi institutions and micro enterprises working for employment in the country. (KNN Bureau)
