Secretary, MSME Ministry, Madhav Lal made the announcement while addressing at the 7th National Cluster Summit here on Saturday, which was themed as "Scaling Up Clusters: Fostering Growth and Employment in SMEs”.
The summit was attended by over 500 delegates on the first day itself from the government and domestic as well as overseas industry.
Lal noted that focus has to remain on value addition, capacity building through training process and infrastructure requirements.
"Value addition is that core principal on which GDP figures can be altered. Capacity Building in areas of Cost, Productivity, Design and Soft Skills training can altogether transform the growth trajectory of an existing enterprise without a need to invest in infrastructural requirements like land, machinery etc," he said, according to media reports.
Lal congratulated Confederation of Indian Industry for their consistent hard work towards the sector to boost the entire industry and individuals' performance level.
Also speaking on the occasion, Director General, National Productivity Council, Harbhajan Singh said, "The process of formation of Clusters using the Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme must be simplified,” adding, "It is important to propagate and motivate the MSME sector."
Expressing similar sentiments, Chairman, National Cluster Summit, Yogesh Munjal also talked about simplification of all processes.
He said simple processes can help in making the Cluster approach for enhancing competitiveness go viral. (KNN/SD)
