MSME Minister Rane to take up associations’ suggestion with PM & FM

New Delhi, April 28 (KNN) Welcoming the suggestions of MSME associations, Union Minister of MSME Naryan Rane has assured to take up the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for further discussions.

Chairing his first meeting with the industry on Wednesday, he said “We have received many suggestions related to banks, technology upgradation etc. We will deliberate over those ideas and look forward towards its effective implementation.”

Stressing on the experience industry leaders possess, the Minister said that their insights and recommendations are necessary for the growth of the MSME sector.

Emphasizing on the emergence of digital banks throwing new challenges, the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) has proposed for a Standing Committee to address the issues related to banks.

“The Committee may be composed of 5-6 members: three associations, an official from Department of Financial Services, one retired Banker and a lawyer. A senior official from DCMSME may function as Member Secretary,” suggested Prashant Patel, President, FISME present at the meeting.

Highlighting the multi-Ministry and multi-institutional issues which affect MSMEs adversely in Public Procurement, Patel has pitched for a formation of a Committee comprising of 5 members: three associations, one retired senior official from Department of Expenditure (for GFR issues) and a lawyer (having exposure of MSME issues) with a senior official from DCMSME as Member Secretary.
