New Delhi, Feb 14 (KNN) In a bid to augment the capacity of existing SC/ST entrepreneurs, the Ministry of MSME has approved a scheme for reimbursement of course fee for attending short term courses from the top 50 institute in area of management.

The new scheme provides reimbursement of course fee up to 90% or Rs 1 Lakh (whichever is less) in a financial year to SC/ST MSEs for attending short term courses (1-30 days in the area of EDPs/MDPs/Family Business) from any of the top 50 management institutes.

These institutes have been shortlisted as per the as per the list of top 50 institutes in area of management as per the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoHRD) in 2018.

SC/ST entrepreneurs and/or their ward can attend up to 2 courses in one financial year within the limit of Rs. 1 Lakh. The fee to be reimbursed will cover the course fees as well as boarding and lodging for residential courses.

Also to promote entrepreneurship amongst the SC/ST community, the Ministry of MSME approved 25 training institutes including autonomous institutes and MSME Tool Rooms, to impart technical and entrepreneurship development training to SC/ST entrepreneurs under National SC/ST Hub. 

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National SC/ST Hub (NSSH) in October 2016 to achieve the mandate of Public Procurement Policy, 2012 and to promote entrepreneurship amongst the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.

The objective of the hub is to build an entrepreneurial culture among SC/ST Community by training aspiring entrepreneurs, who need support in building entrepreneurial skills and support existing entrepreneurs through training on managing their business better and participate in the Public Procurement Policy (PPP).
