MSME Ministry asks states to adopt Public Procurement Policy

New Delhi, Aug 22 (KNN) The MSME Ministry has sought suggestions from the state representatives for tweaking the definition of MSMEs and asked them to adopt the Public Procurement Policy.

The National Conference of State’s Ministers for Industries and MSME for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India, was held today in the national capital. 

Addressing the conference, Union Minister for MSMEs, Kalraj Mishra said, “the MSME Ministry has come out with key issues for the development of the MSMEs across the nation and for that I urge you all (state governments) to give your suggestions and feedback for the economic and social development of the sector”.

He asked the representatives of all states to give their suggestions for tweaking the definition of MSMEs.

Further, he also asked the state ministers to adopt schemes like MSME procurement policy and urged them to help in modifying the MSME Development Act 2006.

Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Madhav Lal said that the states' role is far more significant in the implementation of various schemes and programme of MSME. (KNN/SD)
