MSME Ministry invites suggestions-feedback from associations at National Board Meeting

New Delhi, Feb 26 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) urged the associations and other stakeholders to come up with relevant suggestions and feedback.

The National Board for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (NBMSME) in its 16th meeting today focused on various issues and aspects of MSME sector.

Agenda of the meeting included action report on the suggestions made by the members of National Board for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises and to shed light on various programs and policies taken in direction of supporting MSME.

Terming the MSME as the crucial sector in employment generation Union Minister of MSME Giriraj Singh said “various measures have been taken by the government in direction of improving ease of doing business which includes change in definition for MSME by keeping turnover criteria”.

Stating Udyog Aadhar Memorandum is the best self registration medium he said “it has reduced the burden of entrepreneurs of running behind officials and more than 41.89 lakh units have been registered so far under this”.

He further mentioned that ministry of MSME has launched the Public Procurement Portal “MSME SAMADHAN” which helps in monitoring the procurement by Central Government Ministries, Departments and Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and Not only this 4% out of 20% target of annual procurement from MSMEs is also earmarked for procurement from MSMEs owned by  SC-ST.

He said that the ministry has launched a portal MSME SAMADHAAN in the month of October with the objective of providing information about CPSE regarding delayed payment with them in respect of the MSME and also to bring the listed demands of MSME on this platform through this portal, which is not only monitored by MSME but also be monitored by central ministries and state government including Prime Minister also.

He said government is also working on restructuring of MSME and the first step towards it is to ensure that the payment window in cases of MSMEs should be increased from 90 days to 180 days.

He promised that by 2018-19 the government will increase the credit flow equivalent to the amount that has been disbursed in the last 3 years.

He said the government has also taken steps in direction of Agriculture and government has tied up 300 clusters with science and technology C-MAT to support farmers also.

Major coir and khadi have been allocated 415 crore to generate employment opportunities and further new additional 15 technology centre’s will be constructed with the assistance of world bank.

It’s a duty of the ministry to set up 3d and plasma technology centre’s to help MSMEs he added.

He also invited suggestion and support of the MSME to work together to strengthen MSME sector as it provide employment to large masses.

He also spoke about solar charkha mission to provide employment to village people in village areas.

He stressed on the motive to provide employment to 5000 crore people and to introduce charkha production models on technology based.

He further mentioned that the government is trying to build social entrepreneurship through the medium of amino acid, bio compost and charkha. (KNN/YV)
