MSME Ministry offers courses in journalism

New Delhi, Jun 5 (KNN)  The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has called for applications for courses in automotive journalism, print and electronic media, TV journalism and radio jockeying and script writing.

Offered for the third time, the career oriented courses are of six and three month duration.  Candidates who have passed 10 + 2 are eligible for admission (35 seats) which will be given on a first come first served basis.

The course fee is on par with private institutions.  According to an official notification, while the six month courses in automotive journalism and print and electronic media cost Rs 50,000, the courses in TV journalism and radio jockeying and script writing are of three month duration costing Rs 20,000.

On completion of the courses, candidates would receive a certificate from the Government of India, MSME Ministry. 

There will be a 50 per cent discount in fee for students from SC/ST categories.

With the third phase of FM radio approved by the government, experts estimate the launching of 300 new radio stations around the country which will need approximately 4000 radio jockeys.  (KNN)
