MSME Ministry to organize Six-Sigma course for entrepreneurs

New Delhi, Apr 7 (KNN) The technology development centre (TDC) of the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is going to organise a four day certificate course on six sigma black belt programme for small entrepreneurs at the fee of Rs 40,000. 

TDC, Agra also known as process and product development centre, presents an eight day programme on six sigma, black belt certification in April and May in the national capital, said a notification today. 

The centre provides training and consultancy services for the development of MSMEs. It provides a comprehensive range of services to the sector in India in terms of technical assistance, information, provision for common facilities etc.

In these days of great economic reformation and liberalization, competition in any business is getting tougher and tougher. Therefore, in order to sustain in this fast changing business environment, competing organizations should adopt Six Sigma methodology of DMAIC (define, measure, analyse, improve and control) that helps one in achieving optimum business results through minimum resource mobilization, said TDC.

Six-Sigma is one of the training programmes conducted by MSME-TDC. “Our Six Sigma Programmes are widely attended by multilevel and multi-sectored participants. We teach statistics, an important variable in Six Sigma, in a non-statistical business English,” TDC said.

“The centre for technological up gradation of small scale and forging industries was set up at Agra in 1985 with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

It provides testing for chemical, metallurgical non-destructive ferrous and non-ferrous metals and engineering components. It is equipped with instruments which test raw materials, engineering products, building material conforming to Indian and International standards. (KNN/SD)
