MSME purchase policy should be implemented thoroughly: UAI president

New Delhi, Oct 3 (KNN) Uttrakhand Industries Association President (UIA) Pankaj Gupta on Thursday said that the 'Purchase policy' which is being introduced by the government for the MSME should be implemented thoroughly rather than being ignored.

While speaking to KNN India over a media report, where some of the MSMEs owners asked Uttrakhand Government to provide work to them, Gupta said, '' I won't say that there is no work for the MSME in the state, but what I will say that whatever the purchases are there, be it a product purchase or service purchase, MSME should get preference in that and the policy needs to be implemented by the authority thoroughly, so that MSME can get their share.''

''The Purchase policy are not being implemented as the concerned department didn't take it seriously. So, we are requesting the government to implement the policy and accordingly we hope that department should honour it and give preference to small sectors,'' he added.

While commenting about the Earnest Deposit Money (EMD) he said,'' Indeed, we are being benefitted from EMD.''

On being asked about the big firms, bags all the contracts for government projects, Gupta replied,'' I will say only one thing that is to implement the policy in true sense and whatever the provisions is there to boost the MSME sector should be considered. If it's happen then in that case MSME will start getting work.''

''The policy needs to be implemented in all the states,'' he concluded.
