MSME Sampark records 7,000 job applications in 4 days as vacancies remain scarce

New Delhi, Jan 25 (KNN) During the covid period, the MSME Sampark job portal by the MSME Ministry has recorded a hike in job seekers with as many as 7,000 fresh applications, as per official data showed on Monday.

The total number has gone from 4.68 lakh to 4.75 lakh in 4 days.

When we look at vacancies, there’s a vast difference as for 4.75 lakh jobseekers, there are only 127 vacancies available as of data reflected.

This also had reduced by 84 per cent from 819 in January last year, even as the number of recruiters grew 5 per cent from 5,951 to 6,271, data from the portal at the time of filing this report showed.

President Ram Nath Kovind had launched this MSME govt job portal in June 2018.

Vijay Kalantri, President, All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and Chairman, MVIRDC World Trade Center, Mumbai pressed on how the intent of government to create more jobs through different policies need maximum extent of utilisation.

The answer to the problem is not policy formulation. Rather funding MSMEs on time must be Government’s priority so that they can tap into more business opportunities and create more jobs that could be listed on this portal as well, he said.

MSME Sampark helps trainees and students passing out from the 18 MSME Technology Centres in India connect with national and international recruiters for employment purposes.

Approximately 1.5 lakh students are trained yearly at the the technology centres and most of them join the industry as professionals.
