MSME Technology Centre at Rohtak to benefit 4500 MSME units

New Delhi, Oct 24 (KNN) The MSME Technology Centre that is coming up in Rohtak, Haryana at a cost of Rs 125 crore will benefit more than 4500 micro, small and medium units.
“After setting up of MSME Technology Centre at Rohtak more than 4500 MSME units manufacturing Auto components, General Engineering /Fasteners etc will get advantage in developing world class dies, tools, moulds, jigs, fixtures in addition to testing facilities and trained technical manpower,” MSME Minister K H Muniyappa said while laying the foundation stone yesterday for the project on a 19.8-acre property provided by the Haryana state government free of cost.
The Centre, he said, would assist the units in improving their quality of end product and increase exports. Also, it would meet the growing demand for tooling, product and process development as well as skilled manpower.
Once the technology centre is up and functioning, it is expected that MSME units of Rohtak will start developing their new products, proto types and other tooling locally as they currently receive such services from Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Chennai, Ludhiana etc.
The project is in line with the Ministry’s scheme titled Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP), the objective being to establish more Technology Centres in the country to provide technological support to MSMEs, and thereby making them globally competitive.
Rohtak is an established industrial hub catering to a number of industries operating from the region. Further, Industrial Model Township (IMT) Rohtak is positioned to emerge as the second most important industrial corridor.
Numerous varieties of industrial fasteners, engineering products, chemicals and other items are being manufactured and exported to various countries across the globe from this region.
The Technology Centre would also cater to industries from the northern region of the country as well. Training programmes conducted there would benefit youth and enhance their employment potential. (KNN/ES)
