MSME traders in Punjab demand timely implementation of promises made by Commerce Minister

New Delhi, May 12 (KNN) Punjab Industrialist’s who recently interacted with Punjab’s Industry and Commerce Minister Sunder Shyam Arora during his maiden visit to the industrial hub of the state, feel that the visit would be productive only if the promises and announcements made by the minister were implemented timely considering the present situation.

The industrialists appreciated the few steps that had been taken by the minister but suggested timely implementation for the betterment of industry.

Regarding the promises made by the Minister, Federation of Small Scale Industries Association (FOPSIA) president Badish Jindal said that the Minister has taken on week time to sort out the issues of MSMEs with the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL).

Terming the demands that had been made during the meeting justified, he said “we will wait for 7 days to see the results if government is really committed for us, as the demands are not at all unjustified, government should realize this and fulfill the pre-poll promises made to the industry.”

While some of the industrialists felt that the small and medium entrepreneurs were ignored by the minister as the minister met only business tycoons during his visit.

They agreed the fact that without cooperation of the big industrial houses, government cannot survive but at the same time, they believe that small and medium units cannot be ignored.

Most of the incentives should be for small and medium units if industry has to progress in Punjab, small scale entrepreneur’s demanded.
