MSMEs are growing and Indian policies are supporting them to grow globally: Expert

New Delhi, Nov 14 (KNN) MSMEs are growing and Indian policies are supporting them to grow globally and also to tap the global market, that helps in getting into the value chains, said Dr. Bimal Arora while talking to KNN India.
Dr Arora is a Lecturer in Management, CSR and Sustainability Work and Organizational Psychology Department, Aston Business School, at the event ‘India and sustainability standards’ in India.
He added, “Getting into value chains is where MSMEs need to meet the global market demand of sustainability and standards.”
“I would say that these are opportunities for MSMEs, because if you are being able to engage in standard and sustainability and your system is processing, then you (MSMEs) are in much better position or are privileged to access the global market,” he said.
He said, “Everybody knows that the role of MSMEs is very important in an economy. But, the challenges for them come in different forms.”
“We work very closely with sustainability standards. International buyers harmonize the standards and compliance requirements at the Indian level, for the MSMEs to overcome the difficulties which are complexities related to India specific,” Bimal mentioned.
He stated, “India needs to more collaborate than compliance and regulation. If a SME does-not have experience and exposure, then international buyers need to come forward and support the supplies in building their capacities. Also help in working closely with policy makers and other organizations.”
He highlighted that if MSMEs are transparent and closely engaged with buyers, then they have a chance of working things out rather than getting excluded.
Bimal urged MSMEs to get more into the debates about the issues, and not to shy away. These discussions are the opportunities, take it forward and lap it.
He said to the MSMEs, “Let’s make things work in a collaborate fashion.”
