MSMEs in Ludhiana apprises dept officials of 'problems' being face by them

Ludhiana, Jan 6 (KNN) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSME–DI) had organised a meeting-cum-industrial awareness session on the benefits of clusters and other schemes of the state and central governments.

Around 80 businessmen had participated in the meeting where they apprised MSME department officials of problems being faced by them and also suggested Centre to improve its policies for the MSME sector.

Speaking after the meeting, the President of Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (FICO), Gurmeet Kular, termed the session as “very productive”.

“More schemes for MSME, especially those with incentives, should be introduced for us. We also enlighten them of not getting easy finance from banks. The MSME officials, however, promised us that all our concerns will be conveyed to the Centre at the earliest,” he said.

On the other hand, the chairman of United Sewing Machine and Parts Manufacturers Association, Dalbir Dhiman, said that MSME officials explained how a cluster can achieve what a single member can never by creating a common facilitation centre.

''Revised guidelines of marketing assistance scheme were discussed. We came to know that it enables members to avail a subsidy of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh for participation in exhibition, which was previously Rs 45,000 only,” he said.

''They can use the facilities of Central Tool Room (CTR) to develop their own products, said  AP Sharma, the general manager of the industrial of CTR here.
