MSMEs must register themselves to take advantage of different schemes: Sehgal

New Delhi, Feb 18 (KNN) Addressing the second edition of the MSME Conclave, Additional Chief Secretary (MSME) Navneet Sehgal said more and more MSMEs should be encouraged to register with the government so that they can take advantage of the schemes.

Talking about the use of technology at the event where the focus was on how to encourage MSMEs to adopt technology and to create awareness about financing options, the official said that pilot projects are being run in the Moradabad and Varanasi districts to enable business units to use computer aided designing facilities and other common cloud services.

Vinay Sharma, Vice-President of Ernst & Young spoke about various schemes of the UP government to facilitate and support MSMEs under the ‘One District One Product’ scheme.

Kiron Chopra, Chairperson of CII UP MSME panel and managing director, Chopra Retec Rubber Products Ltd, said that in the current times, approximately 72% of the transactions by MSMEs are through digital mode and appreciated efforts of the UP government for providing the support in transforming the eco-system for MSMEs to reap the benefits of reaching out to a wider consumer base through e-commerce portals.
