MSMEs national workshop on Employment Generation Programme

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (KNN) National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NIMSME), Hyderabad organised a national workshop on Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) December 23 and 24, 2014.

PMEGP is a credit-linked subsidy programme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) for creation of employment in both rural and urban areas of the country.

Officers from all over the country including those from Khadi and Village Industries Board, Maharashtra; Khadi and Village Industries Board, Kerala; project officers, PMEGP and State Bank of Hyderabad attended the workshop.

Branding and marketing strategies for Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) were also discussed in the two day workshop.

KVIC, a statutory organisation under the aegis of the Ministry of MSME, is the nodal agency for PMEGP at the National Level.

PMEGP has an objective to provide continuous and sustainable employment to a large segment of traditional and prospective artisans, rural and urban unemployed youth in the country through setting up of micro enterprises. (KNN/ST)
