The Union Minister informed that IDEMI Mumbai, another institute under the Ministry, also played an important role in manufacturing of parts for Chandrayan-3.

He said that the success of this mission will prove beneficial for India as well as for the whole world.

“From Charkha to Chandrayan, today the MSME sector is everywhere, playing a crucial role in increasing the production capacity of the country,” he said.

Thanking the scientists, he said that India's history in the space sector has been exceptional. MSME sector will surely play a crucial role in the space missions to be launched in the future as well, he added.

Whenever a notable event happens in the country, the contribution of MSME is lauded. After that everything goes cool. The sector has little access to sustainable finance. The parameters that make a MSME successful are much different from the large industry. Big industry has not only access to finance, but also to the political system as well as the legal system. The banking system is in no way equipped to assess the MSME sector. I wonder how many bank managers understand the MSME businesses. Manufacturing is one aspect, the service sector is treated very badly in this country- the funding agencies are very suspicious about their activities. State govts dole out freebies to get votes, but when it comes to MSME, they receive tax notices with threats of dire consequences if not complied with. The central and state govts as well as the banks and the RBI are responsible for this messy state of MSMEs. Only lip service - no real and tangible work.
