Raipur, Nov 19 (KNN)  A two day MSME Expo will begin here from November-21 to demonstrate manufacturing capabilities and services of micro, small and medium enterprises to large buyers from the government, PSUs and private industrial houses.

Organised by the MSME Development Institute, the two day event will serve as a national level vendor development programme and industrial exhibition.

The basic objective of the programme is to provide a platform for micro and small enterprises to demonstrate their manufacturing capabilities and services in front of the buyers from Central Government, public sector undertakings, large industrial houses and private organisations, said a report from The Pioneer, quoting the Director of MSME Development Institute, AR Gokhe.

Above all, it will help buyers to identify and select the right vendors to meet their requirements.

Further, considering the mandatory requirement of implementing the Public Procurement Policy 2012 from April 1, 2015, maximum emphasis will be given on registration of MSEs under the scheme by participation of Central Public Sector Units (CPSUs) for their requirements including 358 reserved items particularly for procurement from MSEs, Gokhe said, as per the media report.

The event will also feature technical sessions that will focus on product purchase procedures, schemes and assistance for rapid industrialisation and vibrant economic growth.
Among the PSUs that will be participating are NTPC, SECL, BSNL, BHEL, Ordnance Factory, SAIL, and SECR.  In addition, other large scale industries like BALCO, Jindal Steel and Power, ACC Limited, Ultratech cement are expected to participate.  (KNN Bureau)
