Mysore Printers Cluster secures TIFAC assistance

Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) under the MSME programme, provides R&D and technical support to the MSME Clusters.
A team of scientists from the Ministry of Science and Technology visited the cluster yesterday to study various aspects of the industry such as technology adopted, challenges faced and to propose advanced technology to improve productivity.
During the meeting, entrepreneurs expressed their technical and marketing drawbacks and enquired about possible support that TIFAC can provide.
Speaking at the event, President, Mysore Printers Cluster, Suresh Kumar Jain made a presentation about the formation of SPV, required technical skill development and marketing support for the cluster.
While Executive Director of Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Prabhath Ranjan briefed about the activities and programmes of TIFAC, Director, Techno Centre, MS Ramaiah University Applied Sciences, Nagendra Prasad said the institute will bridge the gap between academy and industry and expressed the need for technology mapping in a cost effective way to the industry clusters.
Meanwhile, G. Devakumar, from the MS Ramaiah University Applied Sciences, said he was planning to help out in delivering a soft Intervention Programme and an Internship project by which MBA students can be used to conduct a survey study.
The meeting was followed by visit to Matha Printers, Pramatha Printers, Shree Creation and Gayathri Enterprises for inputs about required technology upgradation. (KNN/ES)
