Bhubaneswar, Oct 13 (KNN)  To ensure that the micro, small and medium enterprises engaged in the manufacture of Aluminium ware receive all possible support to produce quality products, the National Aluminium Company (NALCO) is planning to send a team to the Middle-East to study world class practices in the sector, according to a Business Standard report.

The middle-east, particularly the UAE is the world’s fourth largest aluminium producer, its production pegged at 2.4 million tonnes; and currently exporting to 35 countries.

The team will study both upstream industries (firms that process the basic raw material into an intermediary product) and downstream industries (firms that convert intermediary products into finished products).

"Micro-medium-small enterprises are now expected to produce the required quantity and high quality products, so as to enable themselves to seize the opportunities under the new Industrial Policy of the state government and as a responsible corporate, NALCO is keen to provide all kinds of support," the Business Standard report said quoting Nalco CMD T K Chand.

According to the report, the aluminium park at Angul being jointly developed by NALCO and state owned Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) would cater to industries using aluminium conductors, extrusions, castings, foils, powder and paste.

The park will be spread across about 450 acres of land, developed through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) called Angul Aluminium Park Private Ltd (AAPPL).  (KNN Bureau)
