National MSME awards for productivity and innovation

New Delhi, Aug 3 (KNN) National Productivity Council, an organisation under Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will distribute National Productivity and Innovation Award (2013-2014) in micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector here on Monday. Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra will be the chief guest for the event, while MSME Secretary Anup K Pujari and DIPP Secretary Amitabh Kant will be the guests of honour.
The objectives of the award is to identify and bring forward innovative enterprises in above sectors who through their innovative actions have introduced breakthrough changes in products, services, processes, and new methods of production for augmenting enterprise level productivity and competitiveness and can become role models for others to emulate.
The awards will be given away in three categories namely micro, small and medium to domestic industrial units operating in the manufacturing sectors. These include sectors such as electronics and IT hardware; leather products; light electrical; sports goods; toy and textile.
Every winning enterprise will receive an Award Trophy along with a Certificate. (KNN Bureau)
