Guwahati, Nov 19 (KNN)  As a part of promoting micro and small scale industry in the state, the Assam government has sent a delegation to participate in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in UAE under the initiative of North Eastern Small Scale Industries association (NESSIA).

A 120 member delegation which was led by its State President, Sailen Baruah included women entrepreneurs of the multi-product sector from all over Assam.  They participated and held business to business meetings with manufacturers of paper machineries.

NESSIA Vice President Nileswar Basumatary emphasized the need to interact with industries that produce facial tissue, toilet tissue and handkerchief paper which are in good demand in the north eastern states.

At present most of the tissue paper items are imported from outside Assam. Chinese companies with low cost manufacturing machineries are interested in business with the state which has a tremendous scope for tissue paper Industries.

The delegation also held meetings with the Assamese Business community in Dubai and nearby countries to work in coordination with NESSIA for business tie ups with both the countries.

Baruah has appealed to the Ministry of MSME to provide more exposure to entrepreneurs of Assam.  (KNN/ST)
