NIESBUD & PHD Chamber to promote innovation, entrepreneurship in MSMEs

New Delhi, Jun 14 (KNN)  The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Centre of Excellence for innovation and entrepreneurship to help promote competitiveness in micro, small and medium enterprises.
 
The MOU for the NIESBUD-PHD Chamber Centre of Excellence for innovation and entrepreneurship was signed here yesterday, the two signatories being Director General, NIESBUD, Arun Kumar Jha and Executive Director, PHD Chamber, Saurabh Sanyal, according to an official release.
 
The Centre would facilitate collaboration towards advancement of knowledge on the basis of reciprocity, best effort, mutual benefit and frequent interactions, it said. 
 
The MoU which came in to force with immediate effect also provides for organizing joint training workshops, programmes, seminars of the two institutions to cater to technological advancement or MSMEs as also conduct their certified courses and corporate trainings, besides different activities aimed at capacity building of entrepreneurs through Hub and Spoke Model.
 
In a statement issued here, Sanyal said that the PHD Chamber which serves the vast number of MSMEs was committed to integrate small and medium enterprises to global economies.
 
NIESBUD is an apex body under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises with the basic objective of promoting and development micro, small and medium enterprises, its association with PHD Chamber would go a long way to instil the required momentum in them, said Jha after signing the MoU.  (KNN/ES)
