NSIC Techmart showcases strengths and capabilities of MSMEs

New Delhi, Nov 14 (KNN)  NSIC Techmart India 2013 that showcases the strengths and capabilities of MSMEs was inaugurated today to coincide with the India International Trade Fair 2013 that started here.
 
Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Madhav Lal opened the Techmart Pavillion in the presence of CMD, NSIC - H P Kumar and the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Republic of South Africa, Elizabeth Thabethe.
 
“The exhibition is divided into several segments like machine and machine tools, Light Engineering, mechanical products, electrical and electronics, institution, leather products, auto components, health care, information technology, rubber products, building materials and general products,”  according to an official notification.
 
It gives MSME units an opportunity to enhance their marketing efforts and technology transfer under one roof and at the same time to improve market access in India and abroad.
 
Techmart India 2013 is spread over an area of 5000 sqm and is a platform for those associated with the MSME sector and interested in keeping abreast with the latest technological developments in the micro, small and medium enterprises sector.
 
More than 455 participants from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir Uttrakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Manipur are participating in Techmart India 2013.
 
Out of these are 38 entrepreneurs are from the North Eastern States, 22 are Women Entrepreneurs and 11 entrepreneurs belong to SC/ST Category. 

Further, with a view to encourage young people, entrepreneurs, micro and small enterprises to set up new projects and expand their business and export, low cost and employment generation oriented technologies are on display while providing live demonstrations. 

There are several machines used in food processing, silver extraction, bio technology, welding, griding, diesel fuel pumps, sugar mills, gems and jewellery, etc on display.
 
Among the industrial products on display are packing material, auto components, water purifier, analog and digital panel meters, steel doors, hose assemblies and fittings, screw, bolt and components and security holograms. 

Moreover, there are electrical and electronics industrial products such as solar street lighting, air water heater, and oil cooler as also general products in leather, herbal products, handicrafts, handlooms, furniture, food, woollen, bamboo, etc exhibited in the stall.

A highlight of Techmart is a virtual display wherein 294 MSMEs get the opportunity to display their product profiles with images and text through e-Catalogues on the web portal www.nsicindia.com.   (KNN/ES)
