Hyderabad, Aug 27 (KNN)  To simplify the process for registration of micro, small and medium enterprises, an online system will be launched soon, according to Union Minister of MSMEs, Kalraj Mishra.

The MSME Minister was speaking at the national workshop of small and medium enterprises organised by the Council of Small and Medium Manufacturing Industry (COSMI) here yesterday, said a Times of India report.

“It has been observed that MSME units face an uphill task in procuring multiple clearances for registering their units. We want to simplify the procedure by making it an online procedure.  This will not only make the process transparent but will also save a lot of time,” Mishra was quoted as saying.

Pointing out to the government’s increasing focus on manufacturing, the Minister said that they were looking to frame a new policy for MSMEs exclusively which would be launched in about three months.

However, he stressed the need for quality in the manufacturing process to help boost exports as well as the ‘Made in India’ brand.

To support the sector, as many as 15 tool rooms, equipped with technology for MSMEs will be set up by the government, across the country.

In addition, to address the crucial issue of access to credit, the MSME Ministry will be holding a meeting with top bankers soon, he said.

Significantly, industry bodies such as the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), Federation of Telangana Small and Medium Industries Association (FTSMIA), Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of AP (ALEAP) and Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), among others, asked the minister to address issues such as power shortage in the state, skill development, availability of credit at lower interest and also R&D.  (KNN Bureau)
