Lucknow, May 9 (KNN)  Indian Industries Association (IIA) with the support of UP Department of MSME and Export Promotion has organised a mega Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) conclave on May-22 here to enhance the growth of the sector.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will inaugurate the event ‘Uttar Pradesh Udyami Mahasammelan 2013’ which will be attended by over 1,000 MSME entrepreneurs from across UP, according to IIA.

The forthcoming event is timely considering that the UP government recently announced new policies in all key sectors for MSMEs to promote its development.
Currently, UP is home to almost 3.1 million MSMEs, the largest number compared to any other state in India. The sector contributes about 50 per cent of the gross state domestic product (GSDP) of UP.

It also supports about 40 million people, which is almost 1/4th the UP population, and thus plays an important role in the socio-economic development of the state.

Thus, realizing the urgent need to make MSME entrepreneurs aware about these policy provisions the industry chamber and the government decided to organize the event and provide feedback to the state government regarding implementation status, according to their press release.

Important topics to be discussed at the conclave are programs and policies of the department of MSME and Export Promotion, issues related to implementation of industrial policies, industrial infrastructure, ease of doing business, taxation, credit, provisions of 12th Five Year Plan, programs and schemes of union ministry of MSME, NSIC schemes, public procurement policy of UP and central government.
