Over 7.28 Cr MSMEs Registered On Udyam Portal Since 2020: MoS
New Delhi, Dec 15 (KNN) Showing signs of growing formalisation of the economy and more and more people taking to entrepreneurship, the number of total micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) registered on the Udyam Registration Portal has exceeded 7.28 crore ever since the online platform was launched in 2020.
The Udyam portal provides access to government schemes, formal credit, and procurement opportunities, while also supporting policy formulation through data collected via over 50 API integrations with various organisations.
In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for MSMEs Shobha Karandlaje noted that efforts to improve Ease of Doing Business (EODB) include digitisation of services, single-window clearances, and simplification of procedures.
Key initiatives highlighted by the ministry include MSME SAMBANDH, Micro and Small Enterprises - Green Investment and Financing for Transformation Scheme (MSE- GIFT Scheme), Micro and Small Enterprises Scheme for Promotion and Investment in Circular Economy (MSE- SPICE Scheme), MSME Sustainable ZED Certification Scheme, Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), MSME SAMADHAAN, Micro and Small Enterprises - Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) etc.
These programmes aim to address challenges such as access to finance, skill development, and sustainability.
As of 30 November 2025, 2.86 crore women-led MSMEs were registered on the portal, reflecting significant participation of women entrepreneurs in the sector.
