The initiative to link MSME vendors to these security forces is being taken by the MSME Development Institute.
Besides arms and ammunition, the paramilitary forces would make purchases worth crores of rupees which include shoes, woollen, cotton hosiery items, uniforms, textile, apparel and other allied items.
The national level vendor development programme cum industrial exhibition would also help MSMEs engaged in manufacturing / rendering services in security, safety, fire, mechanical, electrical equipment to expand market base and explore new marketing avenues.
The two day MSME Mart is supported by Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Delhi Police, etc.
The programme would bring buyers and sellers onto a common platform to ensure face to face business transactions, technology transfer, collaborations and providing need based technology support to MSEs.
There will also be an interaction meet of MSEs with CPSUs / Paramilitary organisations in which public procurement policy, vendor registration procedure along with various schemes of the Ministry of MSME will be discussed.
About 100 stalls, each measuring 3 metres X 3 metres would be available, although they need to be booked in advance. (KNN/ES)
