Manesar, Jul 11 (KNN) The Manesar industrialists have to pay money to the postal department for receiving important documents or face delayed delivery, industrialists here have said.

“Delayed delivery of post or money in return for delivering important documents  is what the industrialist of Manesar are facing on a day to day basis,” according to a press release by Manesar Industries Welfare Association (MIWA).

Even the letters which are sent through speed post or registered post are not delivered to the industrialists in the stipulated time period, the release added.

When these industrialists approached the Post Office officials at Sadar Bazaar, Gurgaon and Manesar, they refused to accept the complaint, it said.

MIWA General Secretary, Manmohan Gaind said, “For any efficient public service, a prompt complaint redressal system is the basic necessity which the postal department has not made mandatory.”

He further said, “Owing to this, the post man and the local post office are acting autocratically and thus promoting corruption.”

An executive member of the association, Rajesh Gupta said, “If this is what is happening with industrial associations when they are talking on behalf of all industrialists, how are these officers dealing with individual complaints? This is a serious issue.”

Another industrialist added, “May be this is the reason the business of Post Office is going down and people have started exploring private options. Further these officers need to be trained in basic etiquette as criticism is for improvement and could be taken positively. But such behaviour by officers has showed their mala fide intentions, he added. (KNN/SD)
