PDEXCIL demand subsidies for textile MSME exporters

New Delhi, Jan 19 (KNN) The powerloom exporters have raised concerns that the domestic manufacturers are losing their competitive edge in the international market due to 70 per cent hike in yarn prices coupled with rising cotton prices and high export demand.

Pointing that the country is loosing on its textile share in the global market to is counterparts like Bangladesh and China.

The members of Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) have sought incentives for special exports so that fabric and apparel makers in India have a strong foothold in the international market. 

The representation was given before the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal during a meeting earlier this week. 

The members of  PDEXCIL have urged the government to support MSME exporters by providing intensives in the form of subsidy which would provide relief from the increasing prices of raw materials. 

The key issue highighted was the increase in cotton prices which have led to the increase in yarn prices.
