PM stresses on need to identify challenges faced by MSMEs

New Delhi, Feb 28 (KNN) In the last few years, several significant steps have been taken to support MSMEs and there is a need to brainstorm and identify the obstacles faced by MSMEs, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Addressing a Post Budget Webinar on the subject of ‘Ease of Living using Technology’, he pointed out the government’s efforts to reduce the compliance cost for small enterprises thereby reducing time.

It is the fifth of a series of 12 post-budget webinars organized by the government to seek ideas and suggestions for the effective implementation of the initiatives announced in the Union Budget 2023.

The Prime Minister asked various departments to collectively think about using technology for solving their problems and reaching global standards.

The plenary sessions were addressed by respective Ministers and Secretaries from MeitY, MMoC&I, DPIIT;  DoPT; Department of Expenditure (DoE) &  Dept. of Justice (DoJ) on E-Courts and three breakout sessions were held on  Ease of Living using technology for access;  Ease of accessing justice; EoDB using technology, especially for small businesses & Ease of Living using 5G use-cases and labs.

Presentations in breakout session related to MSMEs were given by institutions such as CII, Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), IIT Delhi and Madras)  E&Y, Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research (CDEPR) and IVCA. 

Concluding the address, the Prime Minister stressed that the success of the budget or any government policy depends on how well it is prepared but also highlighted the importance of people's cooperation.  (KNN Bureau)
