PMEGP exhibition inaugurated by Secretary, MSME

New Delhi, Aug 17 (KNN) A PMEGP exhibition of West Bengal, “Khadi Bongo Utsav” was inaugurated by Anup K Pujari, Secretary, MSME here today. 

Exclusive products of Silk, Muslin fabric and readymade as well as sarees of Kantha, Baluchari, Garad, Matka, Balkal are available for sale. In addition product of Jute, Dokra, Terracotta, Leather, Artificial jewelry and other handicrafts of Bengal were also on display. 

The Secretary appreciated the work of the Micro Entrepreneurs from West Bengal while taking a round of the PMEGP exhibition and congratulated KVIC for provide marketing support to micro entrepreneurs under PMEGP by organizing a series of exhibition.
 
The Secretary further added that the Prime Minister in his “Mann ki Baat” Radio address had appealed to the Nation to at least buy one Khadi garment. So under the able guidance of Kalraj Mishra Union Minister for MSME many marketing initiative have been launched by KVIC including Khadi Utsav in Colleges and Universities, Flagging off Mobile sales Van to promote Khadi, Kurta Pyjama exhibitions, summer collection sale, launch of Khadi denim and T-shirts etc. 

The permanent PMEGP exhibition venue at Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan, Regal Building, New Delhi was inaugurated by Shri Kalraj Mishraji, Union Minister of MSME on 16th June, 2015. Entrepreneurs from different states are being invited on rotation basis for the exhibitions cum sale. 

As a part of Khadi sales promotion, up to 60 per cent discount on select items for stock clearance and 20 per cent discount on Khadi Fabric & Readymade will be offered to the customers during this period. 

Under the Employment Generation programme in the country, currently 3.21 lakhs number of PMEGP Micro enterprises are operating in the country providing employment opportunities to 27.71 lakh persons. 

B H Anil Kumar, Joint Secretary (ARI), M/o MSME and Shri Arun Kumar Jha, CEO & Commissioner, KVIC also graced the occasion. 

The exhibition will be from August 17-31, 2015. (KNN Bureau)
