Promised policy would soon be put in place, TN Govt assures MSMEs
Madurai, Aug 6 (KNN) Reeta Harish Thakkar, Additional Commissioner (Industries and Commerce), Tamil Nadu has said that the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the growth engine of the Tamil Nadu.
She also assured that promised policy by the government would soon be put in place.
She was speaking at the CII-TN MSME summit 2016.
Commissioner said that online approval methods is being implemented to help entrepreneurs start businesses without spending much time due to red tapism in Tamil Nadu.
With the objective of providing friendly environment to the entrepreneurs, the Tamil Nadu Government had rolled out a number of initiatives. One among them was setting up a single window committee.
Admitting that there were delays at various levels faced by the applicants, Thakkar however, said that issues were more to do with compliance. The government was aware of the hiccups and would soon make it a past.
District collector K Veera Raghava Rao said Madurai has a conducive environment to set up new companies. There is a big workforce and vast land available for entrepreneurs. He encouraged the entrepreneurs to start companies in clusters so that they can help each other and flourish. It will also help the district administration and government to provide required support including infrastructure facility.
Assuring that the district administration would look into the grievances of the entrepreneurs from trade and industry representatives, he, however, suggested them to form clusters as it had a plenty of advantages. (KNN Bureau)
