Proposals of 27 companies to expand operations in TN are approved

New Delhi, Jan 9 (KNN) Proposals of 27 companies that will be expanding its operations in Tamil Nadu have been approved, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami said in the Assembly in his reply to Governor’s address.

He said, “These companies are expected to generate job opportunities for about 50,000 people.”

As the Tamil Nadu government gears for its Global Investors’ Meet this month, it has already cleared more than Rs.50,000 crore worth of investment proposals in the State.

To improve the global competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state and attract foreign investments into the sector, the State government is in the processing creating a separate entity, the Minister said.

He said that the State government’s single window clearance system would provide all required approvals in 30 days’ time.

He also said the State government’s single window portal for MSMEs was ensuring time-bound processing of applications and issue of clearances by various departments.

About 46 applications have been received by the government under the single window clearance scheme.

Out of which 28 are expected to be given approvals, while other proposals are being examined.

The approvals of MSME proposals would lead to generation of jobs for more than 15,000 people.
