Rajya Sabha MP urges Ludhiana MSMEs to use technology for growth

Ludhiana, Sep 27 (KNN) Interacting with the micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the city about various issues faced by them, Rajya Sabha MP and member of parliamentary standing committee on industry, Shwait Malik, urged them to use technology to growth their businesses.

Malik held a meeting with industrialists of the state at MSME-DI, Ludhiana.

While interacting, MSMEs highlighted the problems faced by them and gave few suggestions especially with regards to the industrial policy.

According to a media report, the Rajya Sabha MP talked about the steps being taken by the government to boost the industrial sector.

Malik asked the entrepreneurs to use technology to progress further in the field of business.

He said, "Modi government is working day and night to change industrial scenario in our country and it is no wonder that we are moving towards becoming one of the strongest economy in the world due to the best governance and industry friendly policies of our government."

Malik also stressed upon the urgent need for skill development in the country.

He said India lacking in terms of skill development as compared to other countries of the world as only 2.3% of the country’s youth is skilled, while in developed countries, the percentage is manifold as compared to India.

With regards to the lack of industrial infrastructure and delay in implementation of central government policies for industry in the state, Malik said a lot of work needs to be done for progress and development of the industry.

“Our government is committed to take every necessary step for making doing business in India easier," he added.

Others present in the programme included director of the MSME-DI Vijay Kumar, deputy director Kamal Singh, assistant directors Kamal Singh, Manoj Sharma, Ankur Pathak, Neeraj Arora and R K Parmar. Meanwhile, zonal head of National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) Rajesh Jain, general manager of district industries centre Mahesh Khanna and industrialists Upkar Singh Ahuja, Kulwant Singh, G S Kahlon, Avtar Singh, Gurmeet Kular, Jaswinder Thukral were also present in the meeting.
