Rs 135 Cr Released Under UP MSME Policy 2022: Govt Tells Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 3 (KNN) The Uttar Pradesh government’s MSME Policy 2022 is currently under implementation, with financial benefits extended to industrial units through multiple incentive components, the government informed the Rajya Sabha.

In a written reply, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shobha Karandlaje said that under the policy, incentives are being provided in the form of capital subsidy, interest subsidy, Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) coverage, and reimbursement of employers’ contributions.

As per information received from the Uttar Pradesh government, an amount of Rs 135.08 crore has been disbursed to 173 industrial units so far, the Minister said.

Highlighting support for the handloom sector, the Minister said that the Ministry of Textiles is implementing schemes across the country, including Uttar Pradesh, to promote and strengthen handloom activities. These include the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) and the Raw Material Supply Scheme (RMSS).

Under NHDP, financial assistance is provided to eligible handloom agencies and workers for technology upgradation through improved looms and accessories, solar lighting units, workshed construction, product diversification, development of common infrastructure, and domestic and overseas marketing of handloom products.

The Raw Material Supply Scheme provides transport subsidy for doorstep delivery of yarn and a 15 percent price subsidy on cotton hank yarn, domestic silk, woollen, linen and blended yarns of natural fibres.

To enhance market access, an e-commerce portal has been launched for online marketing of handloom products. Handloom weavers have also been onboarded on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) to facilitate direct sales to government departments and organisations.

The Ministry of MSME is also extending handholding support to micro and small enterprises under the Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme.

As per GeM data, indigenous products under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative are being showcased through the ODOP GeM Bazar, including categories such as Desi Ghee from Auraiya and Textile Products from Etawah.

Total procurement across all ODOP categories on the GeM portal has reached Rs 111 crore, the Minister added.
