Rs 4,06,310 cr approved under CGTMSE in past 23 years

New Delhi, Mar 28 (KNN) Guarantees amounting to Rs. 4,06,310 crore have been approved under Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) since its inception in 2000 till 28 February, 2023.
This information was given by Minister of state for MSME Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
CGTMSE provides credit guarantee to its Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) for the loans extended by them to MSEs without any collateral security or third party guarantee.
Maharashtra recorded highest amount approval at Rs 48,262 crore followed by Uttar Pradesh at Rs 39,964 crore.
As on 28 February 2023, out of the total number and amount of guarantees approved under CGTMSE, 21 per cent by number and 14 per cent by amount is constituted by women owned MSEs.
Further 6 per cent by number and 3 per cent by amount is constituted by SC/ST owned MSEs. (KNN Bureau)
