Seminar on financial restructuring for MSMEs

New Delhi, Nov 5 (KNN)  In view of the fact that access to financial and credit instruments is among the critical challenges facing the MSME sector, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) is organizing a seminar on ‘Financial Restructuring for MSMEs – Lifeline for Success.’

The seminar is scheduled to be held here on November-19.  During the event the second ASSOCHAM – ICAI-CMA SMEs Excellence Awards – 2014 will be conferred.

The seminar will “provide a platform for deliberation among SMEs, Banks and Financial Institutions, Stock Exchanges, Credit Rating Agencies, Factoring Agents and Invoice Brokers, PE and VC firms, and many others to understand the need for financial restructuring for MSMEs as per their needs vis-à-vis finding out the best suited restructuring so that ‘finance’ does not become stumbling block in their operations,” according to official data.

Among the objectives of the seminar are – to discuss the roadmap for sustainable growth vis-a-vis development of SMEs; and to identify new profitable sectors and areas of development for new business opportunities in SME sector.

The meeting would provide an opportunity to discuss the establishment of common facilities covering capital leverage, quality improvement, technology upgradation, market promotion, credit rating and listing of SMEs.  Besides, ways to provide feasible solutions to SMEs hindrance and the much needed infrastructure and monetary assistance to small enterprises for augmenting their competitiveness will also be deliberated upon.

Minister for MSME, Government of India, Kalraj Mishra will inaugurate the seminar and also to confer the second ASSOCHAM – ICAI-CMA SMEs Excellence Awards – 2014.
Other senior government officials from Ministry of MSME, NSIC, SIDBI, banks, financial institutions and many more will be present at the seminar.

SMEs Excellence Awards are a tribute to the efforts and success achieved by the micro, small and medium enterprises.

The awards are presented by ASSOCHAM and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI-CMA) to promote and encourage the SMEs.

Indian SMEs have been devising innovative business models which have transformed the daily life of common citizens in many ways. The awards will be conferred in various categories, namely, innovation, green business, CSR activities, fair business practices, SME of the Year, most promising brand and women entrepreneur.  (KNN/ES)
