SIDBI workshop on energy efficient technologies for MSMEs

Ludhiana, May 16 (KNN)  In an effort to boost the adoption of energy efficient technologies among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) conducted a match-making workshop in Ludhiana.

The programme was organised in association with GIZ, Germany on April-14, a media report said.

During the event, a number of prominent industrialists of the region, energy auditors and CAs discussed the various options available for cost reductions through energy efficient technologies.

Further, Hand Tools Association President SC Ralhan advised the entrepreneurs present to adopt best practices in energy efficiency in order to improve their profitability.

SIDBI Director General Manager, Ludhiana, Javed Ahmad Siddiqui stressed the various options for sustainable finance available from SIDBI to MSME units.

GIZ coordinated an energy efficiency exercise wherein the groups of entrepreneurs such as forging, fasteners, cycle parts, agro-implements manufacturers and foundry units discussed their present energy usage status and scope of improvement with the energy auditors/CAs and presented their plan of action.

Ashwani Kumar of Dalpat Forge (India), Ludhiana was honoured on the occasion as an Energy Efficiency champion by SIDBI-GIZ.

The meet was presided over by SIDBI General Manager UC Gaur and Anja Shivhare of GIZ. (KNN/ST)
