Small traders need handholding so that their problems could be solved under GST: PM Modi

New Delhi, Sept 27 (KNN) Assuring the traders community of the government’s cognizance over the different issues under the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the small traders need handholding to help them resolve their problems.

PM Modi urged the Chief Secretaries as well as the officials of district level administration to coordinate and facilitate appropriate support for the small traders that are grappling with the new taxation.

PM Modi acknowledged that the traders across the country are positive about the One Nation One tax policy of the government, but there are certain problems which they are facing, that needs to be addressed.

The Prime Minister also reiterated that the small businesses must actively become a part of the GST by registering with the GST network. This will help the sector avail new business opportunities.

Also The Prime Minister stressed that the procurement mechanism must adopt GeM as the viable option for procurement as it boosts transparency, besides supporting enterprise at the local level.

PM Modi made these remarks chairing the 22nd interaction through PRAGATI - the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation.
