Haryana Govt notifies Safety Audit Scheme for MSMEs

Chandigarh, May 4 (KNN) To ensure safety at workplaces, the Haryana government has notified the ‘Safety Audit Scheme’ for micro, small and medium enterprises in the state for which it would reimburse as much as 75% of the expenses incurred subject to a maximum of Rs one lakh for conducting safety audit.

Industries and Commerce Minister Capt. Abhimanyu said today that the scheme would ensure the effectiveness of safety programme, identify compliance deficiencies, suggest safety solutions, improve the environment and personal safety, reduce incidents and injuries as well as increase workplace safety.

The Minister said that there would be 75 per cent reimbursement of the expenses incurred subject to a maximum of Rs one lakh for conducting safety audit.

He said there would also be 50 per cent subsidy on cost of capital equipment required for undertaking safety measures subject to a maximum of Rs five lakh.

He said that the scheme would remain operational for a period of five years. The MSMEs which have undertaken safety audit and purchased equipment after August 14, 2015 and before August 14, 2020 would be eligible under this scheme, he added. (KNN Bureau)
