MSME Minister releases books on Ministry’s Achievements, Schemes and on Data

New Delhi, June 1 (KNN) Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra today released a book on achievements of the MSME Ministry in the last two years.

The book mentions about the new initiatives of the Ministry form 2014-16 which includes Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM); Regional Conclaves; Framework for Revival and Rehabilitation of MSMEs; Grievance Monitoring; MSME Policy; Public Procurement Policy and more.

The MSME Ministry held a press conference here on two years of achievements of the Ministry. Mishra release three books on MSME Achievements, Schemes and Data book during the press conference.

While addressing the meet, Mishra said the Ministry is making efforts better coordination between the Centre and the States.

The book of Achievements highlighted that about 600 districts of the country have been mapped through a programme to determine as to what types of MSMEs can be developed in the districts and what types of skills are required for the purpose.

“This is a first ever humongous exercise done in this regard,” it said.

On MSME Data Bank, the book highlighted that the Ministry has launched a new initiative to capture data regarding MSMEs online through www.msmedatabank.in.

“This will help the Ministry in saving the expenditure incurred at the time of 4th All India Census, which was in range of approximately ` 200 cr,” it said.

On Grievance Monitoring, it said, “One of the foremost desires of the Hon’ble Prime Minister is transparency and accountability in the Administration.”

The Ministry also attends to all the grievances on Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and the number of the pending grievance on CPGRAMS as on 31.3.2016 is less than 20. The Ministry has started an MSME internet grievance monitoring system to track and monitor other grievances and suggestions received in the Ministry.

On Framework for Revival and Rehabilitation of MSMEs, the book mentioned, “In order to provide a simpler and faster mechanism to address the stress in the accounts of MSMEs and to facilitate the promotion and development of MSMEs, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, vide their Gazette Notification dated May 29, 2015 notified a ‘Framework for Revival and Rehabilitation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’. Reserve Bank of India, after continuous follow up, has also issued guidelines to the Banks on 17.3.2016.

Under these guidelines Banks have been asked to create a structure by 30th June 2016, for finalising corrective action plan for revival & rehabilitation of MSMEs,” it added.
