SME Council established, agenda includes increasing revenue of SMEs: NASSCOM

New Delhi, May 26 (KNN) The IT and Business Process Management Body NASSCOM has recently set up its first Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) council for a term of two years 2017-19.

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) have formed this council with an aim to help the SME sector tackle challenges. It further intends to increase the overall revenue of the sector in order to establish footprint globally.

NASSCOM said that the SME sector has huge potential, especially in the times when the big and large players are not able to perform well due to the global economic scenario. Therefore encouraging the SME sector can be a good focus area.

It further said that the next IT wave will be facilitated by the SMEs and the SMEs can perform well if given appropriate guidance and support.

NASSCOM also recognized that many of the issues concerning the SMEs gets over shadowed by the problems that are raised by the large players, the NASSCOM SME council intends to address this gap. It will channelize the SME related concerns with the authorities and help them solve it within favourable time period.

Outlining the target further the body said that it is planning to expand operations by forming city-wise SME groups in Tier II and Tier III cities of the country. (KNN/ DA)
