SME e-portal to help small industries through IT

Bengaluru, Jul 28 (KNN) In an effort to provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) a single platform to enable them to develop their businesses and achieve their goals with the help of information technology (IT), an e-portal has been launched. 

The e-portal has been launched by MAIT, an apex body representing India’s IT hardware, training and R&D services sectors.

“The SME portal and the conclave is an endeavour to reach out to SMEs in the IT sector from across the country, to provide them a single platform to address their requirements and give them an opportunity to update their knowledge about various government schemes, business opportunities, latest technologies and investment opportunities available in India and abroad,” said MAIT executive director Anwar Shirpurwala during the MAIT ICT SME Conclave 2014 here.

The e-portal will have features like policy announcements and several other schemes for SMEs and MSMEs. It will also announce government tenders that will enable SMEs to apply and participate. A separate section on jobs will also be made available.

The conclave has an objective to provide awareness on government schemes, solution for business enhancement, playing active role in creating a conducive environment for SME and proactive engagement with government.

The event was organised recently in Bengaluru by MAIT in association with the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) and the Ministry of MSME.
Various industry bodies including the BCIC, AIT-Bangalore, Elcina, NSIC participated in the event.  (KNN/ST)
