States ask Centre to offer MSME incentives on biodegradable packaging products

New Delhi, Jan 14 (KNN) To encourage MSMEs, various State governments have requested the central government to incentivise biodegradable packaging products, reported Mint.

They have urged the Centre to implement a production-linked incentive scheme (PLI) for MSMEs and support state-run financial institutions in assisting MSMEs in hill regions, documents reviewed by Mint showed.

A creation of competitive index and credit rating has also been sought to increase access to funds.

To identify, support MSMEs export potential, a fund estimate of Rs 3,000-4,000 crore needs to be created.

This will help them compete in the global markets and make them a part of global value chains, as per SME Forum.  (KNN Bureau)
