“Subsidy given to entrepreneurs on machines and equipment is being hiked from 15 per cent to 25 per cent and the ceiling was up to Rs 30 lakh,” said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa here today.
The state government would form a land bank through Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (SIDCO) to facilitate the setting up of industrial estates across the state.
Also, SIDCO would construct a multi-storeyed industrial complex at Thirumazhisai in Tiruvallur district at a cost of Rs 20 crore to house micro, small and medium enterprises.
"Owing to the increase in land rates in and around Chennai and the non-availability of land in areas adjacent to already existing estates, the government has decided to go for multi-storeyed industrial complexes," the Chief Minister said.
Apart from this, the government will also set up a 'Single Window Clearance Committee' to avoid delay in getting clearances and sanctions from different departments while establishing industries.
Significantly, the government would provide Rs five crore to the Entrepreneurship Development Institute for training women.
To encourage joint efforts in industrialisation, if private players were interested in setting up industrial estates, SIDCO would invest Rs 10 per cent of the capital. (KNN)
